About Us

Possilpark Business Improvement District (BID) was established on March 2022 following a successful ballot to establish a company that will deliver agreed activities finances from a shared fund. This fund is created from a levy that is charged to local businesses on top their business rates. The successful ballot demonstrated a commitment for traders, partners and the community to work together for positive change.

There is a huge range of businesses and much diversity within Saracen Street and its surrounding areas. Some of these are long standing family businesses, whilst others are entirely new to the area. They range from home interiors, florists, hair and beauty salons, international foods, butchers, bakers and general grocery stores to opticians, pharmacies, solicitors and funeral parlours.

In recent years, like many other places, there has been many challenges for traders and residents alike. However, there remains an urgent need to re-invigorate the BID area and to increase footfall, trading activity and greater social cohesion for the whole community.

Most of us, as businesses, feel very connected to the community and are proud of the area’s heritage. Over the past two years, work has been carried out on a shop front improvement programme with the second stage now complete.

The BID has been renamed as ‘Positive Possil’ to highlight the commitment to transformation of the area physically, economically and socially. We will continue to work with partners and the community to create a ‘Positive Possil’.
