Allied Vehicles Charitable Trust supports Possilpark
Posted on 17th Jan 2026

Christmas cheer was in full swing in North Glasgow thanks to Allied Vehicles Charitable Trust and their tradition of giving back to the community by funding a variety of local events, gift drives and Christmas celebrations.
AVCT pledged £10,000 towards Possilpark Christmas celebrations which helped provide the lights and tree on Saracen Street as well as various events around the local area.

Jim Garrity, Chair of Positive Possil, said;
"We wish to thank Alled for their generous donation towards Christmas lighting and the Tree as this makes a huge difference to the area during the Festive Season. We would also extend our thanks to ng homes for their support and their assistance in overcoming some of the initial obstacles of installation of lighting which will now be in place for years to come."
Allied made further donations to Benview Nursery, Sunshine wishes Children's Charity and BOOM Community Arts to support their Santa Saunter event, where Santa travels on his horse and cart through Possilpark and Ruchill, supported by a team of elves.
The Festive giving included £1,500 to Alive and Kicking for a Christmas celebration and gifts for 70 older adults. Local business, Comfort Zone, received £2,500 toward their large christmas event for food, kiddies rides and gifts for Possilpark children.
Funding of £600 towards a christmas meal and gifts for 50 homeless young people and a further £2,000 to GK Experience to fund their christmas programme, santa packs and supermarket vouchers for families.
Their continued support towards Glasgow's Spirit of Christmas gift appeal with Allied staff and the Trust jointly providing a donation of 550 gifts directly to Possilpark Social Work Team. The Trust also donated the use of a van to help the Spirit of Christmas Charity to deliver gifts to families.

Gerry Facenna, owner of Allied Vehicles and Trustee of the Charitable Trust, said;
"The organisations we support do incredible things for people who need support most, especially at this time of year. We're proud to help them deliver that work and to see the difference it makes in peoples lives. Our Charitable Trust plays a big part in backing their efforts and to bring some joy to families and individuals in our community"
